Biography:
Herish Khalil Mohammed was born in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan, in 1974. He is currently a PhD candidate in International Relations at Near East University. He received M.A. degree (Postgraduate Most Outstanding Achievement) in International Relations from University of Kurdistan- Hawler, Erbil, Iraq, in 2010. He received Post Graduate Certificate (PG Cert) in ‘Professional Development: Learning and Teaching in Higher Education’ from University of St Mark & St John, Plymouth, UK in 2013. Since 2011, he has been a senior lecturer at Soran University. Herish coauthored with Dr Francis Owtram and published an article “Paradiplomacy of Regional Governments in International Relations: The Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Regional Government 2003 – 2010” in the journal Iran and the Caucasus 18 (2014) 65-84. His research interests include International Relations, Paradiplomacy of Regional Governments (Sub-State Actors in International Politics), Secession & Theories of Secession, Federalism, Federacy, & Federation, Self-determination, and Conflict Resolution.
